Specialist funding for high-value commercial vehicles

We structure finance for UK coach, bus, and fleet operators where cashflow, residual value, and delivery certainty matter.

Heron Funding Partners works with businesses investing in high-value transport assets – designing funding structures that reflect real-world usage, depreciation, and long-term economics.

What we do

Heron Funding Partners is an independent commercial vehicle funding partner.

We structure and place finance for:

  • Coaches, buses and trucks
  • Electric and low-emission commercial vehicles
  • Fleet and multi-vehicle acquisitions

Typical asset size: £100k – £500k+
Typical terms: 3–7 years
UK operators only

Funding structures

  • Hire Purchase
  • Finance Lease
  • Operating Lease / Rental (where appropriate)

Every facility is structured around the asset lifecycle, not just the purchase price.

Residual value, utilisation, contract length, and exit strategy are considered before a deal is signed.

Our difference

Most finance decisions are driven by headline rate.
That’s rarely how good deals are built.

At Heron, we focus on structure first:

  • Residual values assessed upfront
  • Facilities aligned to usage and mileage
  • Clear understanding of vehicle specification and delivery timelines
  • Lender assumptions challenged where required

The result is funding that supports the operator – not just the credit model.

Independence with industry insight

Heron Funding Partners operates independently, structuring finance across multiple manufacturers and suppliers.

We work closely with Pelican Engineering, giving us strong insight into vehicle specification, delivery, and secondary market behaviour – whilst remaining  focused on operator economics.

Our approach

We are selective by design.

We work with operators who value:

  • Clarity over complexity
  • Structure over speed
  • Long-term outcomes over short-term optics

About Heron

Heron Funding Partners was established to bring commercial judgement and balance-sheet thinking into UK commercial vehicle finance.

The business is led by Ross Maloney, with over a decade of experience structuring and negotiating complex funding across financial services. Heron exists to apply that discipline to asset finance – focusing on risk, structure and sustainability rather than transactional broking.
