Our approach to environmental and social impact is straightforward. For every electric vehicle we sell, we fund the planting through Carma of 10 trees, supporting environmental regeneration while also helping to fund mental health support and employment opportunities.
Alongside this, we actively support local charities chosen by the Pelican team and invest in apprenticeships, training and long-term careers. It’s a practical considered approach focused on making a difference where we can.
Since 2014, we’ve delivered 2,000 Yutong electric buses and coaches to UK operators – over 1,000 of which are fully electric. With a proven track record and our industry leading aftersales support, we’re proud to help organisations decarbonise transport without compromise.

Carma’s approach goes beyond tree planting. The funding also supports organisations that work directly with veterans and people experiencing mental health challenges – meaning our environmental commitment delivers social benefits too.
Carma works with two key organisations:
HighGround Charity
HighGround uses nature-based projects to help veterans rebuild confidence, develop new skills and move into employment after leaving the Armed Forces. For every 1,000 trees funded, Carma donates £400 to HighGround, to support this work.
The Standing Tall Foundation
The Standing Tall Foundation provides mental health and wellbeing support to veterans and the wider community, focusing on stability and early intervention when people need help most. Carma commits 3% of its gross profits to the foundation.
By funding tree planting through Carma, we are continuing to environmental regeneration while also helping to fund mental health support and practical opportunities for veterans.
In 2025, Pelican donated £15,000 to charities chosen by our Pelican Team including:
Supporting men’s mental health through free, peer-to-peer talking groups
Providing care and support to children with life-shortening conditions and their families
Supporting the young son of one of Pelican’s team members to receive the equipment he needs for everyday life
We’re passionate about supporting the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, a vital service saving lives across the region. Sponsoring the Yorkshire Air Ambulance St Leger Festival event is our way of helping raise awareness and funds for their incredible work.
