We are thrilled to have delivered four zero-emission coaches to Newport Transport, further expanding their Yutong battery-electric fleet.
These PSVAR-compliant 46-seat TCe12s each have a toilet and the dual centre doors are fitted with wheelchair user access. These Yutongs are the first zero-emission coaches to enter into service in Wales, as part of Newport’s growing coach operation.
The Welsh operator expects their new coaches to deliver a range of over 200 miles powered by the 281kW/h of energy capacity. They will be deployed on private hire and day trips for educational establishments and other clients around South-East Wales. The TCe12s join Newport’s extensive battery-electric bus fleet that will also be joined by two of our Yutong U11DD zero-emission double-deckers in due course. Newport Transport Managing Director Scott Pearson spoke about the purchase:

Scott Pearson also added that that they are looking forward to further collaboration with Pelican Bus and Coach, Yutong and Zenobe “as we work towards our vision of a net zero fleet.”
Zenobe’s battery and vehicle financing solutions are supporting the coaches. The Electric Coaches will use charging equipment at the Corporation Road depot that is already operated and maintained by Zenobe. That will “guarantee the health and performance of each onboard battery for the next 16 years,” says Steven Meersman Zenobe Co-Founder and Director Steven Meersman.
