Star Coaches of Batley have taken delivery of a new Yutong GT12 coach finished in their distinctive metallic blue livery. The deal was negotiated between the Area Sales Manager for Pelican, Amelia Crump, and Muhammad Dabhad at Star Coaches, in his role as Operations Manager.
In a special handover ceremony, the GT12 was presented by three generations of the Crump family from Pelican to three generations of the Dabhad family at Star’s offices in Batley. Star Coaches was established in 1982 by Ibrahim Dabhad and his late wife Sabera and Pelican was founded in 1919 by the late Ernest Crump, father of Bob Crump. The handover highlighted the strong family ties between both companies, with three generations still actively involved in each business.
Commenting on the handover, Pelican Chairman Bob Crump said:
“It is a very special pleasure for us to hand over this GT12 to Star Coaches; a family business that, like ours, places great emphasis on customer service and maintaining a strong family legacy in a multi-generational business.”
