Roberts Travel invest in their First Battery-Electric Coach

Roberts Travel of Coalville have added a TCe12 zero emission fully electric coach to their previously all-diesel coach fleet.

Roberts have plenty of experience operating electric buses and have substantial charging infrastructure already in place. They have also owned a Yutong TC9 diesel midi-coach for many years, so are confident to invest in a Yutong electric coach. Electrification was the next logical step for Roberts for this size of vehicle, so Pelican Bus and Coach were happy to facilitate them with their zero-emission journey. Pelican sales area manager, Lee McMahon handled the sale.

The battery-electric vehicle is fitted with 50 seats trimmed in half leather red and black complemented by wood effect flooring. The full PSVAR specification makes the coach very versatile. The 281kw battery power should easily power the vehicle for over 200 miles on a single charge. It can be charged with the 20kw or 42kw charger provided by Pelican or the impressive 120kw chargers onsite at Roberts. These charging options will provide a full charge in just over 10, 6, or 2 hours respectively.
